Title: #CSUN13 Audio: Hands-On With the Nearby Explorer GPS Software from APH
File size: 11.8MB
Nearby Explorer is a fully-featured advanced GPS solution which was recently released for Android smartphones by the American Printing House for the blind. It includes many advanced features common to accessible GPS solutions including virtual navigation and custom points of interest as well as some new options and functions including public transit integration. We went outside with Technology Project Leader Larry Skutchan to get a hands-on demonstration of the software and some of its latest features. We also ask about the possibility of an iOS version and talk about possibilities with indoor navigation. Blind Bargains audio coverage of CSUN 2013 is generously sponsored by the American Foundation for the Blind.
