Parents of blind and visually impaired students can now add braille or recorded notes of encouragement for their children in lunch boxes. Parents can obtain heart-shaped stickers that come in 8 pre-written phrases such as "Love You Lots" and "You've Got This" in braille, which fit neatly on the Rice Crispies Writable Wrappers.
Kellogs has partnered with the national federation of the blind to bring these accessible notes to the nearly 62,000 children in the United States who are blind or visually impaired.
"As a father of three children, I know that love and support are critical to every child s success. We are delighted to partner with Rice Krispies Treats, which shares our commitment to inclusion and Braille literacy, to make sure blind students can get accessible Love Notes in their lunch boxes this back-to-school season." explained Mark Riccobono, president of The National Federation of the Blind.
Incidentally, W. K. Kellogg, the founder of Kellogs, lost his sight in the last decade of his life while continuing to work on his company.
These accessible notes may be ordered from the Rice Crispies website free of charge.
