Accessible Speed Test

Download and upload speed tests are a good way to determine the reliability of your Internet connection. While many factors can go into your current Internet speed, these tests give a good starting point when diagnosing problems. Many of these tests are marginally accessible, but this one from Speed Guide works well with screen readers. We tested it with Firefox 3.0 and it works great. Select a server from the list of locations on this page, and your results will be shown in a table within about a minute for high-speed users. Be careful not to click on the ads on this page, as they are not to the speed test. The locations to select from are below these advertisements.
