Amazon Unveils Prime Membership for $7.99 Per Month

Amazon has offered its Prime service for several years, allowing for two-day shipping for a $79 annual fee. But if that's a bit too much to handle, they have now added a monthly option at $7.99 per month after your free month trial. This is a great way to get two-day shipping for the holidays.
That matches the per-month rate of both its streaming competitors, Netflix and Hulu Plus. It's also a cheaper initial cost than Amazon's $79 1-year membership, although it's about $17 more overall each year. Amazon Prime gives you unlimited 2-day shipping for free, 1-day shipping for $3.99, no minimum order size, unlimited Instant Video streaming, one free borrowed book per month from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library, and more, though accessibility on these services is regretably limited.
