This week's show is way shorter than last week's show. However, we didn't skimp on the content because the news section is back in force. And we have our A T Guys Product Showcase on hand for those of you who are heading to the ACB or NFB national Conventions. Even if you aren't going to either convention, take a listen to the showcase and stick to our feed for convention coverage this July.

Naturally, after last week's big story, we were given just a few comments and reactions. We'll feature only a couple this time around. However, we expect that this will be the subject of interest for many throughout the year. For example, here is a ponderance from steve920.
"I'm not surprised, with the advent of free screen readers and the movement toward tablets, the market to support three commercial screen readers is tight. On the other hand, if this were a major industry, it would never pass Justice Department or European Union scrutiny due to the fact that it creates an anti-trust violation as a near-monopoly."
We will need our Legal Correspondent to re-visit the program to speak about "the M word". Tablets though, they are not selling as near as much as they used to in many markets. Some say that is because the trend of bigger phones ate the market from one end while convertible 2 in 1 laptops compressed it from another side. Joe noted, from this month's WWDC, that Apple didn't mention iPad sales in the Keynote. And that Apple's publicly released numbers have seen tablet sales slow for many quarters now. Back to VFO comments, here is gallagher123123 with his thoughts.
"I don't yet know how I feel about this. I really wonder if this could mean that Jaws and Window-Eyes could become one product. I really don't know about this."
CW reminds us that mash ups in the business world ain't easy.
"Trust me, I still have questions. I remember when the two major satellite radio services combined here in the USA. If I remember, those were XM and Sirius. They said that it would turn out better if my memory hasn't failed me. You know though, I am now using pandora, tuneIn radio, overcast, and other such apps on my iOS device because they give me more of what I want music, shows, and ETC. Say that to say this, in a few years, this might not matter seeing how things could go, but it does look a little bit worrying. It may be nothing though,. We shall see though.
We asked our listeners if anyone had worked with Google on access testing. DebeeArmstrong responded with the following...
"I have done testing for google twice, and the experience was very rewarding. Though the nature of what I tested is still under NDA, I can freely discuss the following. The engineers truly listened to my comments and understood what did and did and did not work in the interfaces I tested. Google was truly interested in access with NVDA, JAWS and voiceOver, as well as access with both IE and Firefox to a variety of web elements and controls. I have also tested for Yahoo and eBay and had the same experience. Each time I tested for all these tech companies, I was video taped and I took advantage of it to talk freely about both what did and did not work with each thing I tested. Though undoubtedly these companies have managers less interested in accessibility, but, the people who run these tests are on our side, and we should all help out even when we don't get paid! "
lastly, from Twitter, this is why we adore you all so much. It keeps us on our toes!
