Though there was no official announcement, Apple now has listed several hardware items to assist people with accessing their Apple devices. Doing a search for "accessibility" in the Accessories category now turns up several results.
Among them, are several switch control devices from a company called AbleNet, the Humanware Brailliant BI 32 and 40, and 2 music-related products from a company called Skoogmusic. According to apple.com, these items are now in stock, and it appears that the pricing is the same as what you are offered on the various company's websites.

Wow, never would have expected that. I wonder if Apple retail locations will eventually stock some of these. It'd be a great way to allow people to get a first hand look at them.

Interesting indeed. I will have to keep my eye around apple's site more often seeing that I sort of didn't see this one coming.

I agree it would be a great way to get some hands on time with these devices, and if you can aford one, maybe pick one up. The braille displays that cost as much as a used car, not practical for most of us though.
