Microsoft's Disability Help Desk has partnered with Be My Eyes, a smart phone application to connect blind and visually impaired individuals with technical support representatives from Microsoft in over 12 countries.
Be my Eyes connects blind and visually impaired individuals to a sighted person who assists them with tasks such as cooking, finding lost items, catching a bus, reviewing mail and more. Since a number of the requests received daily were tech support questions, Be My Eyes and Microsoft have partnered to connect users to the Microsoft Disability support line directly from Be My Eyes. Other companies may be added to Be My Eyes as customers need and request them.
