On August 12, Envision AI released version 1.5.0 of their app, introducing several new real-time scanning features. The new tab, called scan and find, is sure to increase the functionality of the app.
First, the teaching AI flow has been improved with the new teach invision tab. Users may notice it takes somewhat longer than the original method, but that it also works much more reliably and accurately.
Furthermore, the new custom scan option enables live video to scan and identify objects and people in your immediate vecinity which you have previously trained the app to recognize. When an object or person is recognized, voiceOver will read out the name you previously gave that object. It is recommended for recognizing your keys on a table, or locating a cafe.
The general scan also uses Envision AI's object recognission to offer its best prediction of the objects around you. One recommended use case for this is identifying objects as you pass them by, such as a car or bus.
One final highlight of this release is that the app is now entirely available in Traditional Chinese.
Try out this new version and let us know your experiences with it in the comments.
