Apple has recently added a new feature to their Apple Support App enabling customers in the United States to receive expert assistance directly from the messages app.
The new feature is only available for specific topics, though unfortunately these are not listed, and only for customers in the United States. However we can speculate that this advance could potentially be a big help to blind/visually impaired individuals who can use a variety of methods including VoiceOver and Siri to interact with their SMS messages, potentially lowering the barrier to entry to get up and running with a new iOS device.
If you try using this for accessibility support, let us know in the comments whether you’re able to get assistance and how well the process works.
