Microsoft updates Seeing AI,bringing new languages, currencies, and support for Siri shortcuts

On December 2, Microsoft released version 3.3 of popular camera and ocr app Seeing AI. The latest few versions have introduced many new features.

Version 3.3 introduced the ability to recognize text in Dutch, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. Additionally, Japanese Yen may now be recognized using the Currency Identifier.

Previously, Version 3.2 introduced the ability to add Seeing AI shortcuts to Siri. Users can record a phrase such as, "Read short texj." or "Identify a product." to have Siri automatically open Seeing AI with a 'given channel selected.

The update also introduced support for iOS 13, including support for dark mode introduced in the OS.

Finally, when exploring a photo by touch, objects of the same type will receive numerical identifiers. For example, when taking a photo of a set table, rather than hearing "chair" for each chair, you will now hear "chair 1," "chair 2", etc. This will provide even greater understanding of the specifics of a photo.
As always, you can download Seeing AI from the App Store here.
