On the BrailleNote front, information regarding future Keysoft upgrades was unavailable. However, we were able to test-drive version 1.2 of the Victor Reader Stream. First, the Stream includes bass and treble controls for listening to music. Second, track names and audible feedback when changing audio properties has been muted in the music folder. So, in other words, the stream does not announce filenames when switching tracks and the audible tones when adjusting the volume have been removed. As stated in a prior announcement, version 1.2 includes support for NIMAS textbooks, and transfer speeds between the stream and computer are at least 3 times faster. This free upgrade to the Victor Reader Stream firmware is expected to ship February 15.
