The HP Home/Home Office store dropped its price on the tiny HP 1000 Mini-Note 1.Widescreen Laptop to $299.99. plus, shipping is free. Running Windows XP Home, it includes an Intel Atom 1.6gHZ processor, 8GB solid-state hard drive, 802.11G wireless, and a nearly full-sized keyboard. Some users believe the keys on this keyboard are bigger than similar netbooks from other companies. Several upgrades are also available. We recommend the 1GB memory upgrade for $25. It's also compatible with Serotek's $149 System Access screen reader deal.
