We had a Twitter request for some top-of-the-line headphones. Perhaps you've heard of the Beats line of headphones endorsed by Dr. Dre. There was formerly an over-the-ear version of these for about $350 which had great sound, but was quite pricy and required a battery. Now, the Beats Solo headphones cost about half that, have an on-ear design, and don't require a battery. Amazon.com has these headphones with ControlTalk (Black) for $179.95. Plus, shipping is free. In addition to their sound, they include a remote and mic which works with the iPod Nano, amongst other models.

The Beats line of headphones from Monster are just a branding/naming convention and do not live up to the hype. While the sound is good, it is not stellar enough for the price tag.
