We're beginning to learn some details on the forthcoming wireless capabilities of the Plextalk Pocket. The initial implementation will include support for wireless file sharing, which will be available some time next week. Later around June, support for listening to podcasts and Internet radio streams will be included. There's a presentation on the Plextalk Pocket later today, which should give more details.

Please record this presentation if possible. The wireless capabilities of this device represent a major leap forward in functionality of portable book players for the blind. I am extremely interested in learning as many details as possible.

Whether you record it or not, do please summarize it. I much prefer a concise summary alongside a recorded presentation so I can decide if I want to listen to the whole thing or not.

If these capabilities will be in the pocket, that probably means they'll be added to the bookport plus pretty soon as well.

Yes, that would likely happen but the APH development team needs to fully evaluate the implementation, reviews and feedback and decide if there are better ways to implement it. I’d rather wait for some months for the solution to be done right rather than passing along what might be a bright idea but poorly thought through implementation.

Before APH bothers with the Wifi they need to fix their title implementation. Having one title for non-Daisy all mushed together like that doesn't work if you've got a lot of non-daisy audiobooks and want to keep your place in them separately. If they fixed that I might actually buy one, but that's a deal breaker for me. On the other hand if the Plextalk's wifi implementation is good or shows promise maybe I'll go for one of those.
