Blind Bargains

Update: Exhibits from Freedom Scientific Lawsuit Posted

We've obtained some more information in relation to the Freedom Scientific lawsuit vs. the Foundation for Blind Children we posted about earlier. The lawsuit references various exhibits which are aledgedly violating trademarks held by Freedom Scientific. Here is one such exhibit, which appears to be 30 pages of advertisements for Freedom Scientific products from the foundation's website. These pages are no longer on the site.

I went to Preschool at the Foundation for Blind Children in the 1980's and then I attended their summer programs in the late 1990's as a teenager. I spent hours shadowing the guys in the technology center just aching to learn all about assistive technology. This program has been a very positive experience for me, it really shaped the kind of person that I am. I have gained so much from the Foundation that it pains me to think that future children will not have this stabilizing force in their lives to grasp onto while living through these turbulent times. This is what may happen if FS has its way, destroying the one good thing in many kids lives to make a point. If Freedom Scientific attacks organizations that aid Children, what will be next? Don't think this doesn't affect you because one day it will be you who wakes up to find out that some person or organization you care about is being pulled under by a monster corporation that has gotten too big for it's own britches.

As a child, I was always told that the law was here to protect us. Whenever a big company abuses the law because they can, I have to question that protection. It's time to stand up against companies who abuse the law and make us question whether laws are here to protect citizens or large corporations who benefit from unscrupulous misuse of laws to acquire profit. http://3.ly/FSBoycott.
