iPplex has released a new accessible app for iOS devices for recognizing currency. LookTel recognizes all denominations of U.S. currency from $1 through $100 using a continuous video stream to recognize the currency quickly. The result is spoken in a clear, female voice. It's available for $1.99 from the app store and we've linked to the page from this post. This app will work on the iPhone 4, 3GS, and 4th generation iPod touch.

It works really well.

I agree. This is well worth it. I have struggled with my iPod Touch 4G's crappy camera to get anything approaching usable results from Noogle Noggles and oMoby. But LookTel Money Reader worked instantly and easily. Instead of playing distance and alignment games, I waved a bill at it and it recognized it quickly, and accurately. This app, like Digit Eyes, uses the video stream, and that's so much easier to deal with than snapping pictures.
