It’s Grace Hoath back with you for another instalment of how to make money from your recliner. I have to apologize for the lack of columns the past two weeks. I was sick and without internet and when I recovered I had to catch up with my work at the Cisco Academy for the Vision Impaired. This week we will be talking about a company called Opinion Outpost.
This company is good because they send out quite a few surveys a week, and when you have 1000 points you can request a check for $10. The one drawback is that you must live in the U.S. or Canada in order to participate. I used to love this one because it was easy to reach the $10 threshold because of the amount of surveys they sent out each week. To sign up visit this link. There is a join button that you can press space on which will bring up the sign up form. You will have to solve a Capcha but, this company is one of the few that provides an audio one which is commendable. You will have a profile survey which you must fill out so that Opinion Outpost can pick out surveys that will be relevant to you.
The best way to make money from this company is to attempt as many surveys as you can. The more you attempt, the more you will qualify for, which means you will get points. You can also refer your friends for $2 when they complete their first paid survey. This company is extremely simple to use so I don’t have much else to say about how it works.
Our accessibility pro tip this week is for users of JFW version 12. The default for reading tables is to speak only properly marked headings. Many survey sites do not properly mark headings so you may want all column and row titles to speak on survey site pages. You can do this by pressing shift insert B to personalize the page. Press T until you hear the options for tables and arrow down until you hear “Table titles announce marked headers.” Press space until you hear it say “Announce both column and row” and then press enter. You will now hear a lot more information when using your table commands in JAWS.
