Sendero has released details on their forthcoming Seeing Eye GPS app for the iPhone and iOS devices. In addition to the typical turn-by-turn navigation features, it will include nearby points of interest, intersection descriptions, a beam feature which will give points in a specific direction, and more. Data sources will include Foursquare and OpenStreetMap in addition to Navteq. Additional features will be added based on user feedback, according to Sendero. Those interested in trying out this preview version can visit Sendero Group at booth 521 at CSUN or send them an E-Mail. No pricing information is currently available. For more details, check the link on this post. iOS users, is this the GPS app you were waiting for, or are the current solutions adequate for your needs? What would you pay for this app? Sound off in the comments.

Given how well previous Sendero products have worked in the past, I myself would pay between $50 and $100 for the Seeing Eye app.

Having heard the Sendero presentation yesterday on Accessible World, I would pay up to $100.00 for the APP. Would want to see how they would offer plans for maps and associated costs. Would also hope that Sendero would advise on a recommended external GPS receiver when the APP is released. The screen layout sounds good. Hope the APP is out soon. Leo
