Seeking Recordings of Audible Pedestrian Signals

Blind Bargains is seeking your assistance in compiling recordings of audible pedestrian signals used around the world. Creating a publicly-accessible repository for these recordings would serve several purposes, including educating pedestrians on signals used in various cities,
providing samples for those wishing to push for improved audible pedestrian signals in their location, and educating the public about the best and worst applications of these signals. While we prefer recordings in stereo, we will consider any high-quality recording you are able to produce.
If you wish to participate, please do the following. Make a recording of any different types of intersections or other pedestrian crossings near you or in your travels. Do not talk on the recording. Then, upload the recording to Dropbox or another file hosting service and send us the link. Please include the intersection and city in your message as well as any details about the type of signal used. If you are aware of the company providing the signal, include that as well. We will compile all suitable recordings and put them on a public website in the coming months. We hope this will become a useful resource for those wishing to travel independently or help improve the environment around us.
