Blind Bargains

Google Posts Video of 140 Developer Talks from #IO16 including 3 Focusing on Accessibility

Google appears to have posted just about every session from Google IO to their YouTube channel including 3 which focus on accessibility. The developer event, which we discussed in detail on Blind Bargains Qast 62, was recently held in San Francisco.

The collection includes two talks from the Android team: Behind the scenes: What’s new in Android accessibility and Inclusive design and testing: Making your app accessible as well as a presentation on the latest from Google Chrome: Accessibility is My Favorite Part of the Platform

Most of these talks are intended for programmers and developers, so will use more technical language than many will be used to.

I am currently using a Chromebook with ChromeVox-Next which is in beta. It works better than ChromeVox Classic, when it works. I can't seem to replicate situations that cause loss of speech. I'm very excited about it's potential. I am using Chrome in Windows, on the Mac, and with Chrome OS on an Asus chromebook.
