With the release of the OQO 02 computer earlier this year, GW Micro's announcement of an upgrade to the Small-Talk Ultra was inevitable. GW has announced the release of the latest portable piece of assistive technology. Again based on the OQO, the new model includes a 1.6ghz processor, 1GB memory, 80GB hard drive, and Windows Vista Business or XP Pro. The price is still $2,595 with Window-Eyes or $2,395 if you already own Window-Eyes. The latter will also give you a free SMA. For low-vision users, the Small-Talk Ultra is now available with Zoomtext ($2,395) or Zoomtext with Speech ($2,595). GW's version also comes with a carrying case, cables, and a usb keyboard, accessories that would need to be purchased separately if buying from OQO direct.
