The U.S. Social Security Administration is offering a new way for its beneficiaries to receive monthly payments. Now, clients can opt for a debit Mastercard, to which funds will be deposited each month. It then can be used like an ATM card or at millions of stores, eliminating the need for a bank account. There is a fee if you choose to use optional services such as receiving a paper statement or transferring money to a bank account. We'd recommend an actual bank account as a safer and more cost-effective method of receiving payments, but this option may be useful for some.
