New I.D. Mate Summits at $1,150

Magnifying Aids is selling the I.D. Mate Summit bar code reader for $1,150 via their eBay store. With about $20 for shipping, it's $145 off list and the lowest price we could find for a new unit. This is the latest generation of En-Vision America's portable bar code solutions. It includes a 2GB SD memory card, carrying case, power adapter, and 100 custom bar codes for items which don't have them.

Wow, you could buy a couple nice computers for that price. Anyone know how much of these things they actually sell? I've not known rehab agencies to spend money on these types of items, but I could be wrong and I can't imagine many individuals paying this much for a bar code reader even if they can afford it. I can afford it, and I'm sure not going to pay that much. I've better things to do with that money.

if this bar code reader does what it says on the tin then it is worth the money. anything to make our lives easier is ok it is a bit pricey but it should pay for its self in the long run. and you can choose what you want to buy, find your clothes etc not all totally blind people read braile and some have to rely on carers to go shopping etc for them.missyelle
