APH has recently released their 2010 annual report, which gives clues to the future progress for the nonprofit organization. According to the report, a beta version of a GPS application for the Braille Plus is scheduled to be released before the end of fiscal year 2011, which ends on September 30. The project is divided in three phases, including giving basic routing information, identifying, describing, and sharing nearby points of interest, and a way to allow for indoor navigation. No company is named as a partner for this software, though the use of an SDK is mentioned.
